The Zombie Party Song - The Splendid Isolation Orchestra
Hi folks.
Thanks for agreeing to play for the second video by The Splendid Isolation Orchestra whilst we are in lockdown.
The piece is a big full-on symphonic-rock blaster! This time I have included parts for full orchestra. The strings do do a lot of chugging away (sorry!) to keep things simple for post-editing.
There are parts for each section with a link to the PDF download and the original orchestration backing track below.
INSTRUCTIONS
PRE-RECORDING
- Download your music PDF (listed below)
- Download The Zombie Party Song backing track MP3 (link below)
- Tune up. Concert A (440 Hz) Test tone here:
- Use earphones or headphones to listen to the song as you record your performance.
- Look as energized as you can when recording!
- Play the articulations and dynamics as written
- IMPORTANT - Please film in LANDSCAPE - NOT PORTRAIT
RECORDING INSTRUCTIONS
START YOUR RECORDING
Part 1.
- The piece starts with an Oboe A note. Record your tune-up again from the Oboe note as you would in a real performance. The tune up note will stop after 20 seconds, then 4 clicks and then the guitar riff will begin from bar 1.
- Keep recording until the end of the piece, no matter what!!
- If you like singing, choose an SATB vocal line for the Choir vocal bit in the middle of the piece. It can be a separate take. It has to be very clipped and a bit pompous! Choir PDF is at the bottom of the page.
POST RECORDING
- Upload your performance (audio and visual) to Dropbox or another common file-sharing server
- Email me when it's done - I will upload your stuff and then do the rest
